This program offers an opportunity for the ICT industry to see what University of Tasmania graduates are capable of; likewise it provides the students with a chance
to work with local Tasmanian ICT businesses. Future employers find graduates have an increased understanding of business practices. A number of these companies have employed
students who have worked on their projects. For example, Dytech Solutions Pty Ltd has employed 7 students from their project teams over the years, plus many students from
other teams.
| "At the end of 2001, three of the four students working on the Dytech project were subsequently offered full time positions within Dytech. Of these three,
two are now working in positions of significant autonomy and responsibility, and have in effect a twelve-month start on other graduates, due in principle to the experiences gained
during the Software Engineering course." |
