A new employee is generally required to work with the existing software of a business, rather than write completely new software. A number of projects undertaken
involve developing plug-ins for commercial software products produced by Tasmanian ICT companies. This also gives the client a number of students they can employ who
already have intimate knowledge of their product. For example, ISW Development, Getbusi, Nunatak Systems Pty Ltd, Department of Education, Geometry Pty Ltd, and ISW
Viewbuild have all supplied projects to build on their existing software and most of them have employed students from their teams.
