Software Project

Types of Projects > Scientific Projects

Scientific research is prolific in Tasmania and many researchers need software applications to aid them in their research. Each year we take on a couple of scientific software systems. For example, in 2006 we undertook a project for the Australian Antarctic Division that simulates the Antarctic krill population.

"This has been a very positive experience from our point of view. The team always impressed, both as individuals and as a well-coordinated team. The result has been a functional, well-researched and well-assembled software program that meets our original remit and potentially more. Moreover, the extensive documentation and inherent structure of the package promise to be able to facilitate the continued development of the program. Each member of the team is highly commended for their hard work and professionalism, and I would have no hesitation in considering them for further projects with us here at the Antarctic Division should they wish. On behalf of myself and my colleagues, please pass on our thanks for a job well done."
