The aim of the Distributed C++ Compiler project is to reduce the amount of time it takes to compile projects comprising of large code bases. The performance target for this project is to reduce compile times by at least 50%.

It is anticipated that this target can be achieved by utilising the unused resources on machines accessible across a Local Area Network and connected via a Virtual Private Network.

The software solution is will be accessible via a plug-in for Borland C++ Builder 6 Professional and as a command line console. As there are currently no similar tools available for either Borland C++ Builder 6 or Borland Delphi.

The compile server application and any events it triggers will be completely transparent to the user of the machine running the compile server application. A Server Management Console will allow the user to monitor the status and actions of the compile server application if they desire.
