MYSQL is the world's most popular free open-source database. We will be using a MySQL relational database to store information about items, trips, users details, etc. The MySQL database server is the most popular open source database in the world. It is extremely fast and easy to customise, due to its architecture. MySQL is noted mainly for its speed, reliability, and flexibility.

Textpad is a shareware text editor. It provides syntax coloring, as well as a number of nifty features that make coding more enjoyable. Robert uses Textpad exclusively when coding php.

PhpMyAdmin is an excellent platform independent web-based administration client for MySQL databases. We will be using it to easily create, update, select to and from the database, and test our database queries in this program before implementing them into the software and web interface.

PHP is a scripting language for the generation of dynamic HTML web pages, among other things. We will utilise PHP 5 for our web interfaces and MySQL database connectivity. PHP(Hypertext Preprocessor) is an open-source, server-side scripting language for creating dynamic Web pages. It is widely used and it's strength lies in its compatibility with many types of databases and webservers.

VertrigoServ was developed to make available a highly professional and easily installable package of Apache, PHP, MySQL and PhpMyAdmin for Windows platform. It is extremely easy to install and requires little configuration before it can be used to develop the Project.

Macromedia Dreamweaver MX
is a web development tool. We will be using Dreamweaver for the report layouts, templates for our Project's web interface, and our team web site.

Mozilla Firefox
is currently the best browser on the internet. We use it as our main browser while we develop the Project.

Microsoft Internet Explorer
is the most popular web browser on the internet. We will use this browser to test our Project to ensure compatability with the client's software.

Microsoft Office 2003. We are using the XP versions (2003) of the Microsoft Office Suite for a number of documents for the project. These include design documents, user manuals, and even rough prototypes for the website pages.
